ABOUT TRACY
Tracy Morgan has over 30 years of experience as a Radio and Television Personality. Her dedication, charming demeanor, and professionalism are some of the reasons for her longevity in the industry.
In 2006, while at Heaven 1580, Tracy started "The Tracy Morgan Show," which is currently nationally syndicated through Rejoice Networks. Millions of listeners tune in to her midday show Monday through Friday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. EST to be uplifted, encouraged, and inspired. She is also the host of Morning Inspirations weekdays 5 a.m. - 6 a.m. EST on 96.3 WHUR FM in Washington, DC and the Program Director, Music Director and Morning Show Host on 1480 AM WBBP 6 a.m.- 10 a.m. CST in Memphis, TN.
Tracy has held many positions in radio including Program Director, Music Director, and Producer. For nearly a decade, Tracy was a popular Morning and Midday Host on the CBS owned WPGC-Heaven 1580 in Washington, DC. Prior to Heaven 1580, she held the positions of Program Director, Music Director, and Morning Show Host at radio staton WWGB in Washington, DC. She's worked for CBS Radio, Salem Communications and Radio One.
Throughout Tracy's career, she has interviewed numerous celebrities including Gladys Knight, Kirk Franklin, Smokie Robinson, Shirley Caesar, Dr. Bobby Jones, Tyler Perry, Yolanda Adams, Carl Anthony Payne, CeCe Winans, Bishop T.D. Jakes, BeBe Winans, Fred Hammond, David E. Tolbert, Richard Smallwood and countless others.
In addition to being a staple in radio, Tracy has made several TV appearances including on The Word Network, BET, and Howard University’s WHUT-TV 32. She also hosted her own video show “In Praise," and "The Cable Church Directory," a 30 minute Talk Show. Tracy continues to work in television as a Host and Executive Producer.
In 2023, Tracy co-authored her very first book, Faith For The Fiery Trials, From The Valley To Victory With Mountain Faith.
Tracy is a natural on stage and is often invited to emcee, speak and share her expertise as a panelist across the country. Her past speaking engagements include being a guest speaker for Princeton University, an emcee for Tyler Perry’s Stage Plays, a Warm-Up Entertainer for Bobby Jones Gospel (BET), and an emcee for The Gospel Music Hall of Fame in Detroit, MI. Tracy has also covered events at the White House and served on the Stellar Awards Advisory Board for Central City Productions.
Tracy was awarded the Reach Award for Outstanding Achievement by an Announcer at the Stellar Awards in 2014. The Reach Awards recognizes the accolades and achievements of radio announcers. She also won a Stellar Award for Announcer of the Year. Since becoming the Program Director at 1480 WBBP, the station has been nominated for a Stellar Award six times for Large Market Radio Station of the Year. In 2015, WBBP won for Radio Station of the Year-Large Market under Tracy’s leadership. Tracy is also the first woman to be inducted into The Spin Awards Hall of Fame. She is a two-time recipient of the President Joe Biden Lifetime Achievement Award.
In 2005, Tracy was inducted into the Broadcasters Hall of Fame in Akron, Ohio. In 2014, she was inducted into the Columbia School of Broadcasting Hall of Fame, the school she attended, and earned a Certificate in Music Industry Essentials from New York Universities Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music under the Tisch School of the Arts.
When Tracy is not on the air, she remains actively involved in the community. She gives back to the community with her annual “Back to School with New Shoes” campaign that helps families in need by providing new shoes for kids. Tracy is passionate about the next generation of broadcasters. She plans to expand her mentoring program to help students desiring a career in communications.
For decades, Tracy has utilized her platform to help improve the lives of others in her community. She has broadcasted live from Lorton Prison in Virginia. where she connected inmates with their families. Tracy has organized Turkey giveaways for Thanksgiving, adopted families for Christmas, and provided new shoes to support those in need. Her tireless efforts are commendable for her kindness and unwavering dedication.
Tracy’s number one priority is God and her family. In her free time, she loves traveling, sports and playing board games. One of her favorite scriptures is Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. She is married to Keith, and together, they have one daughter, Katrina.
